Skin Rash …What causes it, How do I identify it, and what do I do about it??

A skin rash is one of life’s little annoying surprises, which can be itchy and painful; it is enough to drive anyone crazy! With so many causes it can be just as nerve wracking trying to figure out why it is there.

Sometimes our bodies use a rash as a warning sign that something is going on internally that shouldn’t be, and other times the rash is a sign that you have come in contact with something that the body didn’t like!

Some time ago, we gave a perm to a client that broke out in a rash that landed her in the hospital ...it turned out that she was allergic to an ingredient in the perm solution!

However, the most common reason for a rash is dry irritated skin!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~tip~~~~~~~~~~~~~~tip~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Remember your skin, like other systems in the body, can react to stress. So if you have an unexplained rash breakout, and your skin is moisturized try some calming/relaxation techniques such as meditation or even acupuncture. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The most common types of skin rashes are…
Contact Rashes- This type of rash on skin is caused by an irritating agent. This rash is most commonly caused by dyes, chemicals, strong detergents, and poison oak, ivy and sumac.
Contact rashes are usually pretty easy to deal with; generally if you get rid of the agitating source the rash disappears. However, you should get some soothing all natural products to place on the skin in the mean time, because this type of rash can be a painful rash.
Seborrheic Dermatitis- This common type of rash on skin is usually caused by age, stress, extreme heat or cold, and improper care techniques. You may be bathing too little, or too much with the wrong soap.
Alcohol based moisturizers, and lye based soaps are known for causing dermatitis. These two items are generally the number one cause of rash face.
The worst place to have a rash is the face, because there is no hiding it! Making sure to wash with an all natural product, that is perfect for your skin type, is a great way to avoid this.
Last but not least.
Health Related Rashes- These types of rashes include any type of rash that is caused by a health problem, sickness, or chronic internal disturbance. A few examples of this include Psoriasis, Impetigo, Shingles, Eczema, or Strep bacteria related rashes.
Any type of rash can be a painful rash, but these particular types of rashes can be extremely painful and irritating due to there underlying causes and internal involvement.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~tip~~~~~~~~~~~~~~tip~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For small dry itchy rashes, or patches of eczema, get some pure vitamin E and rub it directly on the area, this will help the area heal much faster. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

How do I know which type of rash I have??

The appropriate answer to this is to tell you to seek medical advice. However, knowing our modern society I know that you will seek answers from Google much quicker than you will a medical practitioner…I know this because everyone does!

So, the most logical and easiest way to identify a skin rash is to search for rash photos, or skin rash pictures. This will return with hundreds of skin rash photos to search through.

The great thing is that these rashes are quite unique, and identifiable. By comparing your skin rash to the skin rash pictures, you should be able to narrow down and ID the culprit in no time!

Once you have identified the rash, now it is time to help it disappear!

The first step in the right direction is correctly identifying the type of rash you have, once you have done this it is essential to narrow down the agitating source.

If you use strong detergents, harsh soaps, or simply don’t moisturize accordingly it is time to change your pattern of habits. First things first, you must get the rash under control…preferably naturally.

A great way to do this is with the use of herbal creams. There are several all natural-to-the-skin herbal creams that possess the same properties as cortisone, without the side effects.

Once you have the inflammation and itching under control, you should look into making some serious changes in your way of thinking when it comes to skin care products.

Always cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser, tone it accordingly, and follow that with a moisturizer that meets your skins needs. And remember your face is not the only place on your body that needs to be taken care of.

Cleansing and moisturizing the skin on the rest of your body with is equally as important to keep an itchy skin rash at bay!
