Our Face Make Up Tips

Face make up is a crucial part of a woman's beauty regimen, it also plays a large role in her overall look. As simple as it may seem there are several ways that a woman can go wrong when applying facial make-up.

To achieve that flawless look seen on fashion and beauty magazine covers one really needs to know the ins and outs of selection and application of makeup. Lacking these skills could leave you with poor skin and an odd looking complexion. Don't let that happen to you.

We have all seen the odd complexion, you know the one I am talking about, the woman that looks like she was attacked by a vicious can of spray tan, or the one that looks deathly ill because her face is several shades lighter than her neck.

Or how about make up lines—oh no—not those hideous make up lines. Teenage girls are usually the reigning queens of face make up lines simply because most not honed their cosmetic skills yet.

The good news is these make up fashion faux pas are not permanent. They can be fixed easily by first admitting that we need a little guidance in the cosmetic selection and application department.

Age Defying Skin Care Tip

Choose a facial foundation that completely disappears into your skin. The point is to blend your foundation right into your skin and not create a completely different color mask.

Face Makeup Application How To

I have seen countless women at cosmetic counter and strolling down the store aisles testing face make up on their hands. You have probably done it yourself a time or too. This is a big no, no.

The skin on your hand is not the same color as the skin on your face. Always, always test the color of your face make up on your jaw line. This avoids any nasty make up lines caused by a color mismatch between the makeup color and your skin tone.

As with many things in life too much of a good thing can be bad. With that in mind, don't over indulge on facial make up. That means, don't use make-up or face powder to try and cover lines or wrinkles—it just does not work well.

Rather than hide imperfections an overabundance of face make up can actually have the opposite effect and emphasize any flaw, especially lines and wrinkles. The bottom line—use enough to enhance your look, not so much that you worsen your appearance. Too much makeup doesn't look good on anyone.

Make up is meant to emphasize your beauty, not create a completely different person.

Age Defying Skin Care Tip

To get even coverage all over your face it is best to use some type of make-up sponge. Choose one you feel works best for your skin and your skills.

Does Skin Type Matter?

How can you achieve the perfect make up and natural look balance? Unfortunately, no one can simply tell you your perfect balance. This is something you will have to figure out based on your specific skin type.

There are set base lines in the makeup industry that include oily skin, dry skin and combination skin. However, this can be quite tricky because our skin can change with the seasons; drier in the winter and oily in the summer.

The best way to determine your perfect skin make up balance is by knowing your skin through trial and error.

Cheap or Expensive Makeup—Is There Really a Difference?

In my opinion, yes, there can be a huge difference between certain makeup products. Cheaper products are often made with lower quality ingredients and fillers that on occasion have been known to skin irritation and even breakouts in some woman.

Choosing a good high quality face make up product will save your skin a lot of irritation and the possibility of skin breakouts. Your best bet is to find good products, in your price range, that are compatible with your skin. Every individual is different so often times you must try a product to know for sure.

Remember, every time you try or change products you face some small risk of a reaction. So find a good product and stick to it. Mid-grade and high grade makeup changes very little over time. Normally all you will are changes in color rather than ingredients.

The value of a cheap low quality makeup product can be very deceiving. Yes it cost less, but oftentimes the cheaper ingredients make the makeup thinner so it takes 3 times as much to get the same coverage as a higher quality product.

Normal Rules of Skin Care Apply to Face Make Up Too

Always remove your make up with a deep cleanser that is capable of fully removing an oil based make up, this ensures that all residue is removed from your skin.

You would never paint on a dirty canvas, so don't apply make up on a dirty face, doing so will give you a caked on look that will age you far beyond your actual years.

Also, starting fresh with a clean face will require less make up so you get more face make-up for your money. Additionally, it is better for your skin too.

Wash every night to remove all your face make up and then moisturize accordingly. Repeat this process in the morning before applying new make up and your skin will glow with a radiance you have not seen in years.
